Our Reviews
Horrible experience, do not recommend. I have reached out to so called Internet Relations Specialist Makayla Bullis to ask for availability of a Toyota Venza. She sad that they have a policy of $1,000 NON-refundable deposit on a car that is still in transit. On top of it, in order to connect me to a sales person they need my driver license/address and phone number. Seems like a scam and waist of time.
Had an appointment to test drive. After the drive Michael Landphere sold us the car. He was great an knowledgeable, the perfect salesman. I can only recommend him to anyone wanting to by a high qualities car for a fair price!
Went in to purchase a vehicle and went directly to the manager rather than saleman. Told him what I wanted and that I wanted no xx and would just talk "out the door price". Manager was grumpy. Told him I dont want to be asked questions but only discuss price. Eventually got a salesman whom was ok. Looked at vehicle and told him resonable price (listed on internet) was fine + t&l. Agreed to a figure. Then in the end wouldnt accept CASH and only wanted a finance/loan option! How stupid! Went across the street to Lithia Ford and bought a new vehicle from them. Do youself a favor and go to Lithia!
I wish I could put zero stars. We bought a vehicle from here this year that now need a new transmission, differentials, transfer case, computer module, suspension, brakes, tires, and rotors. Luckily we bought an extended warranty that is covering some items but there is still close to $10,000 in repairs we will have to cover. These problems started not even 3 months after buying it. We went to what felt like every manager in the store to ask for help with costs just to be turned down because we bought the vehicle āas isā. We understand there is risk in buying a used vehicle but it is very upsetting to have so much go wrong in such a short amount of time. It seems as though they only cared about making a sale and not taking care of a customer. They say they provide the finest automotive experiences in the state of Idaho but that is unfortunately not the case.
I purchased a Rav 4 Hybrid Woodland Edition from Dan Willmorth at Peterson Toyota. He is a really wonderful sales person. He greeted me as I got out of my car and was kind, respectful, and attentive through the entire sales process. He explained things clearly. I have also been able to come back to see him for questions and he continues to be just as friendly. I've been a Toyota owner for 26 years so I really love the brand. Since customer service if very important to me, I would highly recommend him to anyone. Jason Hallum was also a great finance manager as well.
Buyer beware bait and switch! Put a deposit down on a vehicle to come purchase from out of state. Was told by the dealership that I canāt pay cash because of fraudulent checks and that I would have to finance and then could pay it off or refinance immediately and have āPennieās in interestā Went to dealership to purchase on 7/23 to buy new 4runner, filled out a credit application (reluctantly because I was paying cash āmy bank cashiers checkā) and was told I would be sent to one bank (TFS Toyota financial services). Wrote on deal paperwork and credit application, āone bank only.ā Finance manager sends the application to two banks TFS and some Idaho credit union when I didnāt want multiple inquiries. Sign paperwork with TFS on 7/23 and left with vehicle. 7/24 dealership calls and says TFS wonāt fund the deal until I answer a phone call and do phone interview. 7/24 I notice dealership has credit union listed all over paperwork. 7/24 call dealership back and ask for finance manager to call back. He never calls (probably because he was mad and irritated that I wouldnāt purchase his highly marked up financial services products and only calls people back that he makes commissions on) 7/25 call TFS and they tell me deal has not been funded 7/25 call Idaho credit union and they tell me deal has not been funded 7/25 call dealership ask to speak with finance manager, was told he was doing another deal. Called 4 times in 2 hour window with same response, left messages, left voicemails etc. 7/25 call dealership and ask to speak with finance director or gsm/gm, was told by receptionist they are all in a meeting and only person I could talk to is another finance manager who is unrelated to the deal. I tell that finance manager I do not want to finance with Idaho credit union and that the TFS loan isnāt funded so I would like to switch to my bank which is half the rate. He verifies nothing is funded and said he would have finance manager call me. 7/25 no one else calls me back 7/25 I get cashiers check from my credit union and overnight it to dealership. 7/25 I message salesman Andrew and finance manager and am told finance will call me. 7/26 check arrives at dealership 7/26 Aaron salesmanager calls me and says he got my check but itās too late because they got the deal funded. And proceeds to rudely ask me if I want check sent back to me or back to my credit union. To summarize do not trust anything the dealership says, get everything in writing. Dealership either called TFS eluding they were me or somehow in a 24 hour period was able to get my car loan funded thru TFS without my permission because on 7/24 they needed to talk to me and I refused to call to them. Forwarding this complaint to TFS and to Attorney general who will hopefully do research and see how dealership fraudulently was able to get deal funded. Beware finance will never answer the phone Beware after you buy the car and leave dealership will almost completely stop talking to you once they made the sale, prior to making the sale they will answer phone or txts anytime of day. Beware finance will get you to not pay cash and finance with their banks to earn commissions or pay from the banks they force you to go to even if rate is 2 times higher. Beware when you call to talk to a manager they act arrogant and annoyed youāre bringing a problem to them. Do yourself a favor and buy a Toyota from any dealership but here. Worst experience ever.
Got a really good deal on a 2024 trd pro 4runner, my salesman chris was really good about keeping in contact and walking me through getting my first new car.
Dishonest no loyalty I had service done on a 2008 tundra and in the end cost $1600.82I had all the maintenance that needed to be done on it. My husband asked for the old parts. They said they would get them to him when they were done, I called them to remind them then when we went back to pick up the vehicle, I asked for them and how convenient they said they threw them in the trash and all the trash had already been picked up so how sketchy is that and now, not even two years later we had the valve cover gasket replaced and that was a whopping $627.96 with the spark plugs and the gasket is failing and I had another mechanic show me and take pictures and said the cave cover gasket is bad and I called Peterson and asked them what they were going to do and how convenient of course the warranty is 1 year /12,000 miles we only put 10,000 miles since the work was done I asked him what they were gonna do ? Of course nothing! One the other gentleman that I called and talked to said that the gasket should last up to five years and now they are backpedaling and saying oh well nothing I can do . The way I see it is I wouldnāt use them. Iāve talked to people who actually work for them and warned watch out because sometimes they donāt replace what they tell you they do so all I can tell you is watch out because they donāt honor their word. Theyāll take your money, but they donāt honor your their word. My Name is Catalina Zurita and I want them to know who wrote this!!!!
Never buy a vehicle from here. They'll pull the wool over eyes every time.
I bought a new Toyota from Petersen Toyota and have nothing but great things to say about the dealership and Mike Landphere who is my salesman. I bought from out of state because the prices were so good and they made it easy when I picked up the car I was done in less than 30 minutes. Great support throughout the whole process as well.
We recently purchased a new Toyota. Our salesman, Keith Jensen was the height of professionalism as well as very personable and patient. Great guy!!!!
We were going to buy a used car but Tony Peck made sure we liked the new one. And he helped us get a good price. The car was delivered fueled up and pristine. The only complaint is that the first time I went their computers were down and I had to return.
I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Peterson Toyota at 9101 Fairview Ave, Boise, Idaho. On October 28, 2023, I collected my brand new 2024 RAV4 Hybrid XLE, a purchase I had eagerly anticipated for 2 months. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived. After I arrived home, I noticed ten deep nicks on the hood, some revealing metal, some of them lined up on a line as if something sharp was dragged on the hood. Also, an unwashed and dusty roof clearly indicated inadequate application of the āPermaplateā service or no application, which I had paid $799 for. When I raised these concerns, the salesperson attributed the damage to ārock chipsā while driving home from the dealership and offered no assistance to the matter. While escalating the matter to the sales manager, I insisted that they make it right. He stated that if I was āso demandingā he would not help me but if I was more cooperative he would see what they could do. I met another manager the next day. He reviewed surveillance footage and said that the footage confirmed that I walked up to the vehicle before driving off the dealership and that was my last chance to inspect the car, I signed the paper and drove home, thus they are not at fault. He told me, āOnce you get your hood fixed, we will go ahead and re-Parmaplate that for ya.ā I have never felt so dismissed, disrespected, and dishonored in this manner in my life. There is no doubt that Toyota is one of the best automotive manufacturers. However, this dealership adopts an attitude that suggests, "If you have an issue with us, we have plenty of other interested buyers for our cars, so your concerns are not a priority." Buyers should exercise the greatest caution if they choose to buy a Toyota from this dealership. Peterson Toyota's lack of accountability and customer satisfaction in this matter is nonsensical and illogical, and it does not match the high standard of the Toyota Brand that the Corporate and the public expect. I'm seeking a fair resolution, including proper repairs to the hood with warranty and an adequate reapplication of Permaplate. I hope this review serves as a wakeup call for their accountability in customer service and how their poor interactions with customers directly impact Toyotaās brand image adversely. I urge customers to proceed with the utmost caution when they plan to buy their dream car, so that it will not turn into the biggest nightmare like mine at the cost of years of hard work of saving that kind of money.
Tom was so helpful in getting us into our dream car following our Sienna being totaled. He made the process easy, despite our situation being complicated.
Alisha Yeates is the best dealer who ever met in USA. Actually, I just immigrated to Boise from South Korea with my family. I needed a family car. I don't know the US traffic system and what car is good and safe. Alisah explained so kindly about each car's merits and demerits. I was so thankful her. Also, she is experienced dealer. When I received the car, she is so knowledgeable for new car's techniques. I'm also thinking of buying a second car for my commute to work from Alisha.
The Buying process was herrendous, I went in to buy a lease from the dealership and after about an hour wait and being handed off to three different people I started the process. During this process I signed a document for the price of my vehicle, it was the agreed upon price and what I thought was going to be on the loan. However my mistake is not reading every word of what I was signing, they put into the loan agreement without asking me a car warranty that I explictly stated I did not want. If you are buying a new car you are treated like royolty, if you are trying to do anything else you are an inconvience. Again it was my mistake, but my impression of the dealership was that they had integrity, and I had my guard down to the experience I have had with a Sales man that does not currentlly work there anymore.
I needed to buy two cars last year and as Iām not from the area and was looking for good, reliable second hands without trouble. I choose to buy them at Peterson (Boise & Nampa) with the thought it being a reputable company. Although asking a high price for a secondhand car, if it would run without significant hassle for a couple of years, it would be worth it (I hoped). During the 90 days warranty I brought it back for a check as the car was overheating (first time driving in the hills) and running rough. Looking back now, after diagnosing, it showed history codes for overheating before apparently and a code for torque converter clutch solenoid error (before purchase). Issue was āresolvedā by Peterson by replacing spark plugs, coolant bypass assembly and coolant temp sensor. Iāve been using the car after that only to commute in town and it seemed to work ok until I drove for the second time in the hills resulting in the same issue as before; overheating again and the engine light appeared. Unfortunately driving it the second time in the hills and noticed overheating again was after the 90 days warranty was passed. I brought the car in for a diagnose and (surprise), this time the conclusion was, (in line with unaddressed error from before the purchase), the torque converter is locking up and recommendation to have it replaced together with the transmission and some other parts => total cost ~$8k! Oh and we canāt help you repair it, bring it to Fordā¦ Feedback was that I should have come back again within the 90 day warranty, that they fixed the issue according to their diagnose. I would if I had driven in the hills within warranty time.... As I had only be driving it around town, overheating hadnāt shown again the issues in time within warranty. What highly frustrates me though is that the issue causing $8k of cost had shown up before but wasnāt fixed by Peterson before selling me this āreliable purchase from reputable Petersonā. At first the (sales) people at Peterson where very āunderstandingā, āweāll find a way to support you, weāll help you out to trade you out of the carā. But when I asked for a concrete trade in proposal, nothing was presented and this ācompassionā were just empty promises. As well all the sales training tricks to get rid of me were used. When requesting a follow up meeting to find a solution all of a sudden the sales manager I had been talking to earlier was in meetings for the next 5 days (though did answer questions from the sales reps instantly...) and the people I did get a chance to talk to kept referring me to other departments to clean their slate or couldnāt make any support decision as it was āoutside of their paygradeā. Conclusion; ā¢ The assumption youāre better off buying a secondhand car at Peterson is proven wrong in my occasion. Historic error codes werenāt addressed before selling me the car, causing me high cost outside the warrantee period due to relative high purchase and now high repair cost. They were not able to repair the car. Apparently, thereās no difference in quality & service with the non-reputable car dealers around the block. ā¢ Iām highly disappointed with how I was treated trying to explain my issue and, in the end, Peterson not coming with anything to help me in this situation, despite false promises made first. On contrary, every trick was put in place to try to avoid or pass me on to someone else in the company who in the end wouldnāt help me out either. As I purchased two cars at Peterson in one year, Iād expected more solution focused behavior as client from Peterson. Peterson is from now on definitely a no-go for me.
Andrew was great. He listened to what we needed and worked to locate a vehicle that worked for us. No pressure to wedge us into something we didnāt want.
Mike Henderson and Katlin (we didn't get her last name) made buying our very specific Jeep easy! We flew from out of town to make the purchase and we were only at the dealership 45 and we were on the road. Mike made sure everything was ready and taken care of when we walked in. Thank you, Mike, for all your hard work, we love our new ride!
If you want a great car buying experience, visit Peterson Toyota and ask for Keith Jensen.
They eventually take care of the issue you just got to have faith like gorge michals
BEWARE! I wish I could post pictures here to show the sloppy repair service quality at Peterson Toyota in Boise on 9101 West Fairview Ave. I would not recommend. Their service department has repaired a torn CV boot multiple times on our 2014 Sienna, at least once each year for past 3-4 years. Itās all in the repair history. These should not go out so often! They are not good at diagnosis. High quality work from a Toyota dealer is expected, especially since their rates are also much higher than others. Quality work is why we chose to have a Toyota dealer to work on our Toyota. On 8/11/23 we paid Peterson Toyota $1,863 to replace both two front axle assemblies and CLEAN ALL THE GREASE OFF OF THE ROTORS AND BRAKES from the CV boot tear. Today on 8/26/23 we pulled the tires off to redo the front brakes and found that Peterson Toyota service did not even touch cleaning any grease off brakes at all! Our Sienna was not safe to drive with all the grease everywhere they left on there! I scooped loads of grease off from all over the brakes and even the calipers that they were paid to do. Grease all over the inside of the wheel too. We put trust in Peterson Toyota to do the job right, including cleaning and making it safe for the road and they failed significantly! Grease all over on brakes is not safe! I hope this review will help anyone thinking of using Peterson Toyota for their service repairs. This has been failed repair by Peterson Toyota several times. It is the principle of doing exactly what was agreed, and paid, and keeping people safe. People that pay to have repairs done shouldn't have to look under the car to see if it was done right or even done at all. Update 8/28/23, Rich (service manager) at Peterson Toyota called and picked up the van and they cleaned up the mess as they were supposed to the first time. I appreciate they made it right even though it was a big pain and inconvenience.
This is my 7th vehicle I bought from peterson thank you Dale Pagoda your amazing.
I got no response from my request for additional information on a vehicle they were selling.
They found a salesperson to let us into the vehicle so we could sit in it and determine whether we would be interested in pursuing it further. We didn't get contacted from the dealership for our referral for a day or 2 after we had already dropped by to see if the vehicle had the configuration we wanted. It didn't.
